East Anglian Schools Portrait Prize 2011

Announcement of competition and invitation to enter

Entries are invited for the third annual East Anglian Schools Portrait Prize, with the best entries also being included in a gallery exhibition at the Anteros Arts Foundation in Norwich. Students aged 18 or under and in full time education at an institution in Norfolk, Suffolk, Cambridgeshire or Essex are eligible to enter.

This is the first year that the exhibition of selected entries will be held right in the heart of Norwich, in the beautiful medieval gallery at the Foundation’s new base in Fye Bridge Street. Director John Hemmant says,

“The competition always attracts a very high calibre of young artist. The quality of work being produced in our schools and colleges is truly amazing, and reflects the emphasis on artistic skill and technique that Anteros stands for. I am really looking forward to seeing the entries this year”.

An exhibition of selected entries will be held from 8 – 30 October 2011. The winner will receive a specially commissioned portrait by The Anteros Arts Foundation resident artist Will Teather, while runners-up will receive prizes of art materials kindly donated by Jarrolds of Norwich.

  • Entries must be received at The Anteros Arts Foundation, 7-15 Fye Bridge Street, Norwich, NR3 1LJ between September 12th & 1st October 2011. Schools may find it easiest to collect works together and arrange one group delivery with us.
