Will Teather completing his portrait of the singer Ana SilveraThe South Norfolk based Anteros Arts Centre has announced a call for entries. School children of all ages are invited to enter the East Anglian Schools Portrait Prize. Selected entries will be displayed at Norfolk’s Anteros Arts Centre, with the winner being awarded a framed pastel portrait of him/herself created by our professional artist-in-residence, worth £800.

There will be an exhibition of commended works alongside the winner’s portrait, on the weekends of 28th, 29th and 30th of October 2010.

John Hemmant, Anteros Arts Centre Director said:

“We are very excited about this competition at the Anteros Arts Centre. This is our first project working with schools across the region. One of the aims of the Anteros Arts Centre is to introduce young people to art projects that develop their creativity and focus; allowing them to create competent work they are proud of within a supportive environment. This project in conjunction with Norfolk schools aims to achieve this. I hope it will be the beginning of many more activities where we can involve the region’s youth in the arts.”
