Anteros Arts Foundation presents the first East Anglian Artists Development Prize.
The competition is open to visual artists aged 40 and under living in Norfolk, Suffolk or Essex for the chance of the £5,000 prize, a spring 2013 solo exhibition at Anteros Arts Foundation in Norwich and free access to the Anteros Arts Courses for the year.
Application deadline: 14 January 2012.
Shortlisted artists exhibition: 9 March to 28 April 2012.
£5,000 prize
Visual artists under the age of 40 and living in Norfolk, Suffolk or Essex are invited to apply for the £5000 prize that will enable them to undertake a course of study, pursue a project or develop their work in some other way. Students can also apply.
Two and three dimensional works are permitted in a wide range of media such as painting, drawing, mixed media, sculpture, print, etching and illustration.
How to apply
Applicants must submit the following to Anteros Arts Foundation by 14 January 2012:
1. Up to 6 good quality images of work.
2. An artist’s statement (400 words maximum).
3. Outline of how the £5000 prize would develop their work and career (200 words).
4. CV and details of relevant experience.
5. £20 entry fee (cheques made payable to ‘Anteros Arts Foundation’).
Please note that decorative arts, crafts, film and photography will not be considered for this prize. Entries can only be accepted as hard copy.
Judges will make selected studio visits and there will be an exhibition of the 5 shortlisted artists at Anteros from 9 March to 28 April 2012.
